Abu Dhabi GP: Three-Way Battle for the F1 Championship Title

Today, the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi hosted the final race of the Formula 1 season — the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Three drivers entered the decisive stage of the championship battle. The leader of the general standings, British driver Lando Norris of McLaren, has 408 points. To become world champion for the first time in his career, he only needs to finish in the top three. His main rival, Dutchman Max Verstappen of Red Bull, is 12 points behind with 396 points. For Verstappen, who has won the title for four consecutive years, to secure a fifth championship, he must win the race and also rely on Norris failing to score points. The most difficult task for the third driver in the title fight, Australian Oscar Piastri of McLaren, is to win the race while also relying on Norris finishing no higher than sixth, regardless of Verstappen's result. Yesterday, following qualifying, Verstappen secured pole position with a time of 1:22.207. Norris was second, and Piastri was third. These results clearly demonstrated the persistence with which all three drivers are fighting until the very end.
